Kinders out in the Garden

Surprisingly, I shed no tears when Luke made his way to his first day of Kindergarten today!

Maybe it's because it hasn't really hit me yet, since my internal clock didn't have his first day scheduled until next Monday, so Saturday had us scrambling to Target for uniforms and had Luke going to school with his dad's backpack and a brown paper lunch bag instead of the lunchbox and backpack we ordered (don't worry, Luke was very proud of his bag and told everyone he met that he had his dad's backpack at school).

Maybe it's because for the first time in three (?) years, I had a jam-packed morning of errands and got them all done on time with NO negotiating, question-peppering, or bartering.

We will just leave all of the question-peppering to this awesome lady!

It could also be because this little boy is just made for school and organized learning activities and has long surpassed whatever stimulation I could offer. And the school he's going to is awesome.

Case in point: when I asked him what he did today, I heard, "We read some books, then learned some stuff, then went outside, then learned some more fun stuff, then went back outside, then played some games, then learned something, then went back outside. Then you came!"

Games + learning stuff + being outside = Best Luke day ever.
