Unfortunately we missed 13 months. Luke has just continued to grow, though, and get wilder. And more willful. Cause more and more problems. Look more and more like Kenny.
The little monster is now walking! After weeks of trying to get him to walk while holding our hands and having him flatly refuse, one Monday he up and decided to do it! He's been getting more and more reckless every day. As expected, he is getting taller, and daily surprises me with what he can reach and get into now. He has a newfound fascination with garbage cans and toilets and must open and flush them whenever he can. Luke's sign language is improving; he now knows the signs for about ten words or so (sometimes reluctantly), and is more than capable of indicating what he wants with shrieks and points and indignant grunts when we don't catch on fast enough. His new favorite pasttime is to talk on the phone (video to follow)--he will hold the phone up to his ear and carry on a conversation full of inflections and hand motions with whoever is on the other line. For like ten minutes. And there must be someone on the other line, even if it's daddy sitting in a chair a few feet away.

Luke hates to sleep and is steadily resisting any attempts of weaning, and is already refusing to eat some foods, although this seems to be less due to preference than due to a little baby powertrip. But he's just so darn cute that it's hard to be angry sometimes. Strangers still stop me in stores and at the park to tell me how adorable this little man is.
Or at the very least to comment on that hair.
